Puerto Vallerta 2

Additional photos...

Ziplining through the rainforest

Relaxing by the ocean under the airy cabanas

Drifting away...

The city is known for their pelicans

The boardwalk is lined with several weird, abstract sculptures

Day on the beach - the water was a great shade of turquoise

Los Arcos (The Arches) - known for the arches cut out at the bottom of the rocks. This is where we snorkeled the following day.

The Happy Lobster restaurant

Split open crawfish...yum!!

Puerto Vallerta

We traveled to Puerto Vallerta, Mexico for a week long trip in October. A truly beautiful, peaceful, relaxing bay harbor town. We had an amazing down-time - laying out on the beach under the hotel cabanas...strolling along the boardwalk...traveling to a remote public beach...spending a day on a boat that took us to a secluded fishing village where we hiked up to a waterfall...snorkeling...taking a rainforest/rappelling tour. Oh, and awesome seafood!! The only down-fall of the trip was me getting food poisoning from some chicken at a small beach-side restaurant. It was a beautiful city and one of the rare spots we've visited where we would definitely want to return.

Lounging on the boat tour

Paradise!

Secluded fishing village - the only way to get there is by boat.

Waterfall up in the mountains

Jason, the conquering hero!
If you climb up the right side of the fall, you can slide down into the middle of it. Harder than it looks!

The hike back through the forest to the beach

Difficult to see, but the ocean is the deeper blue down on the horizon.

Pool area at our hotel - you can see the white cabanas in the background where we relaxed

Front of the hotel - Plaza Pelicanos

Slacker

Sigh... I am a serious slacker. No excuse - well, ok, I do have one. Since we moved back to Phoenix, we're able to keep in contact better with our family and AZ friends. We can show off our photos and share stories when we get together. So the initial purpose of keeping in touch while we lived in VA has gone by the wayside. But I'm going to try and bring us up to speed.

Where to begin? Well, last summer we posted our trip to Utah & Colorado. I suppose there were 2 trips after that, one missions experience and lots of family in-between. I'll start with pictures from family events, even though they were at the end of the year.

For the two people in the universe who look at this blog, enjoy!

Jason had to work on Thanksgiving, so I was with my Spencer relatives.
This is Aunt Nancy & myself.

(with nice gifts, not crappy ones!)

We traveled to Odessa, TX for New Years to visit my family -
here are we playing a mean game of Texas Dominoes.
I've got my game-face on!

Eating kabobs that we grilled - yes, we enjoy being silly!

A good deal of our visit was spent watching college bowl games -
we Spencers are serious about our sports.
The dedication involves eating in front of the tv.
